We have issues with a Chinese spammer.
216.37.65.218.broad.ja.jx.dynamic.163data.com.cn

This was already a couple of times. So I thought I just block that complete host in the /etc/virtual/bad_sender_hosts file like this:
*.dynamic.163data.com.cn
and reloaded Exim (or restart it).

And what do I see in the firewall today?
Mon Sep 18 20:35:58 2023 218.65.37.216 (CN/China/216.37.65.218.broad.ja.jx.dynamic.163data.com.cn), 5 distributed smtpauth attacks on account [info] in the last 900 secs

So how come he is able to do that, while Exim should already block him due to the input in the bad_sender_hosts file?

this was already planned when pro pack was created, No because when the Pro pack came DA only mentioned that it will only effect some extra "features" and not required software like MysqlI can perfectly live without the extra addons that comes with Pro pack because "core" software was maintained in future updates.But: suddenly without any announcement or feedback simply because someone asked an question regarding mysql we have discovered that DA has changed his license policy, that is what bothering me here.If DA really wants to drop the legacy license just say it and offer legacy license holders to upgrade their license with discount even when its not fair to change the rules of the game which they promised to play nicely but didn't.I am expecting some official announcement from the DA staf regarding this because there are several hosting forums that speaks about this and they all have linked to this thread.@fln @DirectAdmin Sales DirectAdmin Forums...

one client is having some issues with some providers like booking.comhes not getting any emails from them and getting the following error TLS error on connection from mailout-202-r6.booking.com [37.10.30.7] (SSL_accept): ret 5i added the following to exim.conf hoping to get more results from log file to understand what exactly is the issue log_selector = +tls_certificate_verified +tls_cipher +tls_peerdn +tls_sni but error is still the same, i checked all dns records + tls on mail server and all is correct, this issue is only happening with like 1-4 emails such as booking.comany advice how to solve this ? When I try to send emails through my WordPress contact form or any other plugin, the emails don't seem to be delivered, and I don't receive any error messages. It's causing communication problems with my website visitors, and I need to address this as soon as possible. If anyone has experience with DirectAdmin and WordPress and has encountered similar issues, could you please provide some guidance on how to troubleshoot and resolve this problem? I'm open to any suggestions and steps to diagnose and fix the sending problem.

There are a couple of ways to do this.The first option is to configure both ns1 and ns2 for your hosting domain (the domain that DirectAdmin will be accessed with) to the same IP.This will allow you to use just one IP for all websites and services. (Due note that some domain registers require two different IP (and sometimes require them to be on a diffrent subnet) for the two nameservers and thus makes this not an option in all cases.)The second option is to have two IPs going to the same server and adding the second IP to directadmin via the IP Manager.This will allow one server to serve the nameserver requests on both IPs but may still not work in all cases depending on the domain extentions that you have. Since some registers require to have both nameservers on a different subnet.The third option (that is a bit more expensive but also most common) is to have two server/vpses with DirectAdmin and connect them to eachother via multi-server. This will allow you to have two different IPs for the nameservers and adds the redundency of have two servers/vpses. (and if possible in two different locations) Since DirectAdmin Multi-server will handle the transfer of the DNS records between the two servers.And if you plan to use the second server just for the DNS records, then you can use a personal plus license since the domains are not added to the server as domains but rather as a DNS record and this do not count towards the domain limit.But what is best for you, really depends on DirectAdmin Forums...

I was checking my Exim mainlog for something and then suddenly I see a lot of lines coming in like this: Code: 2023-09-02 04:26:30 SPFCheck: Soft Fail 95.xx.xx.xx 2023-09-02 04:26:32 H=server.companyhostname.nl [95.xx.xx.xx] incomplete transaction (QUIT) from <4[email protected]> for [email protected] There was a real load of this.Now the odd thing. This H=server.companyhostname.nl is one of our other servers. But I didn't get any notices of spam from there.So I quickly thought I would block the server ip and then the mails stopped. And then I checked the exim queue on the other server, but that was empty. So my good guess it seems they manage to use some php script to mail as my other server's hostname is sending the helo.Or would this be done in another way?P.s. Since it's night, I checked the php-mail.log files >0kb and there were only 4. Which only 2 or 3 messages, so looks as if it's not php scripts.And lsof -i:25 does not show any other mailserver running either. DirectAdmin Forums...

Hi Guys

We are a reseller so do not have admin/root access.

I have some users who have more than one account.
They have different domains etc on different accounts for different websites.

The users have the same email addresses for each account is it possible they can access the other accounts from within thiers.

So if they have an account with domain1.com another with domain3.com and another with domain3.com
Is there a way they can access the other accounts while the are logged in?

Just like we can as a reseller account from the top menu?

FYI, always use full binary paths, so:

as the cron environement typically has different an entirely different set of $PATH values, so just "php" often isn't found.

After the installation /var/log/rspamd/rspamd.log displays the following repeated entries. Hello all,I have a customized exim installation for rate limiting and using a gateway server to send e-mails.Everything works well, however DirectAdmin sometimes randomly calculate some unusual traffic.One account might calculate 100 GB of Email traffic in a day, while another account might calculate over 2 TB!I'm aware it's most likely caused by a connection not able to be properly closed so it calculates indefinetaly.I want to stop DirectAdmin from calculating e-mail, pop and imap traffic altogether but haven't been able to find success.I have a small script that empties /etc/virtual/usage/useames.bytes files but abnormal traffic still calculates.I can see that it also calculates dovecot traffic so would a small script like;#!/bin/bash # This script clears the contents of all files with a .bytes extension # in the /etc/virtual/usage/ directory. # Loop through each .bytes file and clear its contents for file in /etc/virtual/usage/*.bytes; do > "$file" > /var/log/dovecot-lmtp.log > /var/log/dovecot-lmtp-error.log done Work to archieve this?Regards DirectAdmin Forums...

Today, i woke up and saw that none of the website hosted on one of our DA+CloudLinux server works. Quick debug and found, that PHP was not working, even phpinfo().On all of our servers I'm using mod_fcgid + PHP Selector from Cloudliunux. Finally, I found that something suddenly overrided 'options.conf' file (DA's CustomBuild) - there were added two new lines in the end of file:php1_mode=lsphp alt-php54php1_mode=lsphp alt-php55I removed these lines (which overrided my configuration from begining of the file) and recompile PHP. Now everything work as yesterday.But - how is it possible, that something changed that file and add that (sorry - very very stupid) two lines?I'm pretty sure that CL does not interferre to options.conf, so my first and only thing is that DA addedd thoes lines. But why?And no - server is not compromited and only I have permission to edit this file DirectAdmin Forums...
